Made in the USA, CHIMCARE Non Air Cooled Wind Directional Chimney Cap helps prevent problematic downdrafts in a fireplace. Its stainless steel construction assures long life and rust-free performance. Despite adverse weather, it will not rust. An added feature is the mesh screen that provides a measure of safety by helping to contain sparks. If you are looking for a quality chimney wind cap, then this is the one for you. People refer to it by many different names - Wind Directional Cap, Roman Helmet, Rooster Tail, and other names.

It is designed to be an effective solution to overcome the chimney downdraft problem in windy areas. As the wind stream flows over the cap, it is separated by the cap, while the wind vane keeps the rotating hood in a proper position relative to the wind. A partial vacuum in the flue is created by the air when it moves over the hood, through which draft efficiency is enhanced and helps to prevent cold and unwanted downdrafts. Due to this, the efficiency of a stove or fireplace is increased. It is engineered to slip inside the interior pipe and comes in a range of diameters from 6 inches to 10 inches (see our variations for more details).
